One team that has sustained the most damage is the Houston Texans, as both their first and second string quarterbacks have suffered season ending injuries. As a result, the Texans are scrambling to find a competent quarterback to lead the team to their first playoff appearance in franchise history. The Houston Texans have long been considered that cheerleader working with a nerd in a science class, that is to say a tease to their fans. Essentially, it seems like annually we are writing columns about how good the Texans are or should be and how much they have fallen. Then 2011 happened, and the Texans sit at eight and three with five games remaining and have a very good possibility of claiming their first ever AFC South title. However, as most NFL fans know by now, the Texans literally have no quarterback, as both Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart are done for the season with shoulder injuries.
For this reason and the sake of the coaching staff’s jobs, the Texans need to go outside of the organization and acquire a quarterback. It may have been a long shot, but having Kyle Orton, who was on waivers last week and then picked up by the Kansas City Chiefs, doesn’t look like such a bad idea anymore. The possibility of raw third string quarterback TJ Yates or career backup Kellen Clemens guiding the team, is something we as writers let alone fans do not want to see for this team. |

Week 14 of the NFL betting lines season, provided a clear cut picture for fans wagering on which teams they believe will make the playoffs this season. Several teams were able to pull off impressive victories, while others pretty much showed why they deserve to be on the outside of the NFL playoffs looking in. Today we’ll look at how the playoff would shape up if the season ended today.
If the season ended today, the four teams with byes in round one would be the Houston Texans, Baltimore Ravens, Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers. The eight teams and four wild card games, would be the New York Jets v New England Patriots, the Pittsburgh Steelers v Denver Broncos, the Detroit Lions v New Orleans Saints, and the Atlanta Falcons v New York Giants. In other words, if the bookie software playoffs started today, fans would be as confused as ever in terms of who to pick for Super Bowl Champion.
On paper, the second round of the playoffs would go as follows, in the AFC, the Houston Texans would take on the Pittsburgh Steelers, while the Baltimore Ravens would face the New England Patriots. This would then be followed up with a Houston v Baltimore AFC final, before the Ravens moved on to the Super Bowl. Conversely, the Lions would take on the Packers, while the Giants would take on the 49ers in the second round of NFC action. In the Super Bowl, Green Bay would figure out a way to survive the vicious Ravens defense. As well, the Packers defense, would find a way to stop Ray Rice, as they win their second Super Bowl in a row.

The 2011 NFL season continues to leave fans and media alike in awe, as seemingly each week something new and more impressive happens. With the season entering it’s home stretch, many sports betting enthusiasts are reflecting on week 10 and wondering if week 11 can top it. Here is a recap of the highlights and low points of week 10.
Pittsburgh and New England continued to prove why they are the class of the AFC as they turned in impressive performances during week 10. The Steelers narrowly took out the youthful Cincinnati Bengals, thanks to the Steelers defense capitalizing on rookie mistakes by Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton. Thanks to the victory and a Ravens loss, the Steelers jumped from third in the division back to first heading into their week 11 bye week.
On the other hand, after dropping their last two contests, the New England Patriots were able to finally snag a victory, by stopping the New York Jets. New England quarterback Tom Brady and Head Coach Bill Belichick were finally able to get by bookie software legends Dan Marino and Don Shula as the all time coaching and quarterback tandem in the NFL. The victory also assured, that the Patriots can win the AFC East for another consecutive year.
The low point of week 10 has to go to the inconsistent Baltimore Ravens. We’ve seen two Raven teams this season, the one in which Joe Flacco looks like an MVP and the one in which we ponder why Flacco is even in the league. This past weekend, the Ravens dropped an important contest to the Seattle Seahawks, and now must battle a tough Cincinnati squad, to keep pace in the AFC North. Another team dropping the ball this week was the Philadelphia Eagles, as Michael Vick and the Eagles offense struggled against a bad Arizona Cardinals team.
